Let me share a very important lesson I learned from the Holy Spirit with you;

One day I noticed my mint plants were looking quite green at the top, but after taking a closer look at the bottom and the roots, I noticed yellowing and decay.

I immediately knew what to do, but I found myself hesitating. The more I delayed to prune the plants, the more the decaying and yellowing spread.

I finally mustered the courage to prune and trim my precious babies. And oh my! what a relief it was to see my plants thriving afterwards! If plants could speak, I would have heard their sigh of relief.

After a few weeks, I noticed the leaves began to grow bigger, greener, and healthier. My plants grew from yellow sickly to lush green foliage.

I couldn't be more proud of myself and my plants.

As I was musing to myself and gushing over my plants, I was reminded of the words of Jesus in John 15:1-2, which says

‭‭

[1] “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.

[2] Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. As branches of Christ’s vine, the Father will occasionally or often prune us in order for us to bear more fruits.

The pruning process is a very painful and uncomfortable one, but our Abba does that so that we wouldn't be sickly and yellow.

Painful as it may be, God has our good in mind. He does it for our own good, so that we wouldn't just bear fruits, but we would bear sweet and succulent fruits. That others too may benefit from our fruitfulness. Let’s allow the Father to prune us so that we will bear more fruits as much as 100, sixty, and thirty.
